6.2.6 The TEST CUT Function (TAB KEY FUNCTION)

The Test Cut function allows you to check your blade depth/force settings on your
Intec ColorCut SC5000 cutter.
DO NOT PRESS TESTCUT until you have manually loaded a sheet of media and
MOVED the TOOL carriage into a clear area on the media, away from the side of the
cutter (See 6.3 below). The TESTCUT function will draw a Diagonal(Diamond shape)
using Tool2 and a Square using Tool1, at the tools' current location.
The HOME position of the carriage is the far left of the cutter, IF you Press TESTCUT
without moving the Tool Carriage, (i.e. whilst at the default HOME location), then the
display will show an ERROR message. (due to the fact the TESTCUT function would
require the tool carriage move left into the side of the cutter to perform a Testcut and
this is not permitted). If you see this error message. Power off your cutter, and then
power on again. Please follow the steps below to perform a TEST CUT.
Press the TESTCUT TAB
to initiate the TestCut function.
The TEST TAB changes color
to a solid purple color while
the TESTCUT is performed to
show you have selected that
option. The TAB button Color
will return to the standard grey
Color.
The TEST screen is very useful for checking your blade depth and the
pressure/force used during cutting, prior to starting a job.
After the Blade tool has been loaded and you have manually adjusted the
blade depth to a level you believe is correct. Load a sheet of your media,
and perform a test cut, following the instructions below.
blade and pressure accordingly. Checking and adjusting the settings for
your specifi c media prior to a production saves time and eliminates waste.
