• CONNECTING ROD BIG END SIDE CLEARANCE
Standard
0.1 – 0.7 mm
(0.004 – 0.028 in)
• CONNECTING ROD BIG END OIL CLEARANCE
1) Clean the oil from the crankpin and connecting rod big end
surface.
2) Place a piece of plastigauge on the crankpin, install the
connecting rod and cap, and tighten the bolt to the
specified torque.
TORQUE: 14 N . m (1.4 kgf . m, 10 Ibf . ft)
• Do not rotate the crankshaft while the plastigauge is in
place.
3) Remove the connecting rod and measure the plastigauge.
Standard
0.040 – 0.066 mm
(0.0016 – 0.0026 in)
4) If the clearance exceeds the service limit, replace the
connecting rod and recheck the clearance.
• CAMSHAFT
Inspect for worn and weakened springs and check that the
decompressor weight moves smoothly.
