5.5.

Preparing the mower for work

In order to prepare the mower suspended on the tractor for mowing the following should be
performed:
lower the mower until the sliding saucers come into contact with the ground (Fig. 17),
assemble PTO shaft,
slowly engage the PTO clutch and wait until the cutting unit reaches its rated speed,
engage tractor gear and drive slowly into the grass-field.
Support chain holds up tractor's hydraulic cylinders and maintains mower's level. It causes
lower tear of sliding saucer hub.
CAUTION:
If the mower is improperly adjusted to the ground (Fig. 17), it leads to faster
wear of the sliding saucer hub and knives.
CAUTION:
Mower's nominal rpm: +5 ¸ -10%, i.e. 1000¸ 900 rpm.
