1.1.2 Mass Storage Options
Each MicroVAX 3600/VAXserver 3600 system has an RA82 disk drive
mounted in the top of the system cabinet. Optionally, one or two RA70 disk
drives can be mounted in the BA213 enclosure. Any one or combinations of
the following devices can be mounted in an auxiliary cabinet:
RA81 or RA82 fixed-disk drive
RA60 removable disk drive
TS05 tape drive
TU81—Plus tape drive
Instructions for using each of these devices are in Chapter 3.
Each mass storage device listed has its own power supply, but is connected to
a power controller in the cabinet in which the device is mounted. The power
controller in the system cabinet (described in the next section) distributes ac
power to the BA213 enclosure and the RA82 disk drive. The power controller
in the auxiliary cabinet is daisy-chained to the one in the system cabinet,
so that the entire system is controlled by the on/off switch on the system
cabinet.
