3 Installation

3.1 Charging station

The placement of the charging station should be
well planned in order to give the best installation
and operation of the robotic lawnmower.
• The charging station should have a central
position in the working area so that the
robotic lawnmower is close to it from all
parts of the installation.
• The charging station must be positioned
so that the boundary wire can be laid
1.5 metres straight out to the left and
1.5 metres straight to the right from the
charging station. See the Operator's
Manual.
The one exception to this rule is if the
boundary wire to the left of the charging
station (viewed from the front of the
charging station and facing the charging
station) is run away from the charging
station. It is then sufficient to run the
boundary wire 1 metre straight out to
the left before running it away from the
charging station. See illustration below.

• The charging station must be positioned
so that the guide wire can be laid 2 metres
straight out from the front edge of the
charging station.
The only exception to this rule is if the
guide wire is laid to the left. Then it is
sufficient to run the guide wire 1.5 metres
straight out from the front edges of the
charging station. See illustration below.

• The charging station must be positioned so
that the entire guide wire is not too long. The
guide loop should not be longer than about
250 metres.
The guide loop is defined as the guide wire
from the charging station to the T-connector
in the boundary loop plus the boundary wire
from the T-connector to the charging station,
going left from the T-connector. See
"3.3 Guide wire" on page 30.
The charging station must be positioned on relatively
level ground. See illustration below.

• The charging station must be positioned so
that the boundary wire can be run straight
out from the charging station. See illustration
below. If the boundary wire is laid in any other
way, the mower may find it hard to find the
charging station.
