Rear Leaf Spring Replacement

RIGHT
FRONT
1. Lock nut
2. Spring shackle
3. Rubber bushing
4. Axle bumper
5. Hex nut
IMPORTANT: For proper vehicle performance, al-
ways replace the springs on both sides of the ve-
hicle.
Removal (Fig. 25)
1. Jack up and support rear of vehicle (See Jacking In-
structions in Operator's Manual). Remove rear
wheel(s).
2. Support frame side rails so rear axle can be remo-
ved.

6. Lock nut (4 used per spring)
7. Washer (4 used per spring)
8. Spring plate
9. Leaf spring
10. Flange head screw (2 per mount)
3. Support rear axle, then remove four (4) lock nuts
(Item 6), washers (Item 7) and carriage screws (item 14)
securing rear axle to leaf spring.
4. Remove two (2) lock nuts (Item 1) from spring
shackles (Item 2). Remove spring shackles.
5. Remove two (2) flange nuts (Item 12) and flange
head screws (Item 10) securing spring mount (Item 11)
to frame rail, then remove leaf spring assembly.
