INTRODUCTION

This document describes, in MiVoice 5000, how to install and configure EX Controller and GX Gateway.

TERMINOLOGY

TERMS AND EXPRESSIONS

EX Controller: A unit comprising a deployment tool and a MiVoice 5000 Server.
FXO: Foreign eXchange Office
FXS: Foreign eXchange Subscriber
GX Gateway: Expansion box associated with EX Controller, for connecting analogue terminals
KVM: Hypervisor: Virtualised hypervisor (open source in Linux)
Mitel 5000 Gateways: This term refers to all XS, XL, XD and 500 systems.
MiVoice 5000 or MiVoice 5000 Server: Telephone switching system hosted by a PC running with
PRI: Primary Rate Interface
XS, XL, XD: Mitel physical gateways.
XS: This term refers to XS, XS12 and XS6 systems
MiVoice 5000 Manager: Systems management centre
