5.1.2 Dc Side Switching
Switching occurs between rectifier and brake. KEB rectifiers and power boxes are pro-
tected against voltage peaks occurring during switching.

The brake has no PE connection. The required low-resistance connection must be
made via the metal fastening to the grounded motor housing. If necessary, this must be
checked by a measurement. Additionally the brake is usually covered by the installed
fan cover and therefore cannot be touched directly.

Connection for DC and AC side switching
► Not suitable for inverter operation
since the powerbox or rectifier would
be destroyed.
► Inverter operation possible because
the powerbox or rectifier is supplied
by the mains.
► For inverter operation, switch the
switch during start-up via the digital
output.
► Shortest disconnecting times
► Reduces the contact erosion
