9 Adjusting Settings

Extended Bolus

An Extended Bolus is delivered over a prolonged period of time. Only the meal
portion of a bolus can be extended. A correction bolus cannot be extended.
To turn off the Extended Bolus feature or to change your Extended Bolus
configuration:
1. Navigate to: Settings icon (
2. Tap the toggle next to Extended Bolus to turn on or off the ability to extend a
bolus.

Bolus Calculator settings

This section describes how to adjust the settings used by the Bolus Calculator to
calculate meal and correction boluses.
Warning: The Bolus Calculator displays a suggested bolus dose based on the
personalised settings you have programmed into the PDM. Check with your
healthcare provider before adjusting your Bolus Calculator settings. Giving
too much insulin can cause hypoglycaemia.
Turn the Bolus Calculator on or off
To turn the Bolus Calculator on or off:
1. Navigate to: Settings icon (
2. Tap the toggle on the Bolus Calculator row to turn it on or off.
3. If this is the first time you have turned the Bolus Calculator on, follow the
screen' s instructions or see "Target BG and Correct Above values" on page 31.
The following sections tell you how to edit these settings.
Target BG and Correct Above
When calculating a correction bolus, the Bolus Calculator aims to bring your
blood glucose to your Target BG value. However, the Bolus Calculator only
calculates a correction bolus if your blood glucose is above your Correct Above
setting. To edit Target BG or Correct Above values:
1. Write a list of all of the desired Target BG and Correct Above segments to
guide you through re-entering the values for each segment.
Tip: You can write this list on the pages at the end of this User Guide.
