Installing the Interactive Whiteboard

The following pages include a number of installation procedures. Choose the procedures that
are appropriate for you using the guidelines that follow.
IMPORTANT
To install your SMART Board for Flat-Panel Displays interactive whiteboard, you'll have to:
1. prepare the overlay for installation (page 8)
2. mount the overlay on the flat-panel display:

3. attach either:

4. complete the installation (page 27)
CAUTION
IMPORTANT
The installation procedure varies depending upon whether you ordered your
interactive whiteboard with or without a pen tray.
Also, the installation method and the brackets provided with the interactive
whiteboard vary depending on the size of your flat-panel display. You will either
mount the overlay using:
• a mounting bracket
OR
• four corner brackets
using the mounting bracket (page 9)
using four corner brackets (page 19)
a pen tray (page 23)
a controller (page 25)
Before you mount the flat-panel display and the interactive whiteboard onto a
stand or wall mount, make sure that the combined weight does not exceed the
maximum weight specified by the manufacturer of the stand or wall mount.
To calculate the combined weight, add the weight of the flat-panel display (this
weight should be stated in the user's guide for the flat-panel display) to the
weight of the interactive whiteboard (this weight is stated in the Support section
of www.smarttech.com on the product-specific Specifications page).
Also, if the flat-panel display and the interactive whiteboard are mounted onto a
wall, the wall itself must be strong enough to support the combined weight.
Do not mount an interactive whiteboard in portrait mode. The interactive
whiteboard only works if it is mounted with its cameras in the top-left and top-
right corners.
