SMART Board™ Interactive Display Frame
This Quick Reference provides the information you need to start using the SMART Board
Before you begin, ensure that you have installed the most recent version of SMART Notebook software and
SMART Board drivers on the computer connected to the display frame. For more information about Notebook

Hardware overview
The SMART Board interactive display frame installs over an existing plasma or liquid crystal display (LCD) panel.
Connect your computer to the display panel to view the computer image directly on the display. The interactive
display frame uses DViT™ (Digital Vision Touch) technology which allows you to use your finger, or the supplied
pencil, to control applications and write and erase digital ink.

The display frame installs over an existing plasma or LCD display panel.
It may help you to think of your interactive display frame the same way you think of your mouse or keyboard – it is
an input device that allows you to control applications on your computer. Digital cameras, located in the bottom
corners of the interactive display frame, recognize the position of your finger or pencil on the surface of the display.
You can control applications by touching the surface of the interactive display and you can use the pencil to write
and erase digital ink.

Connecting the SMART Board interactive display frame
Before you can start using the interactive display frame you need to verify all connections and turn on your computer
and display panel.
1 Connect the interactive display frame and flat panel display to your computer
2 Turn on the flat panel display and then turn on your computer. The interactive display frame draws its power
from your computer and activates automatically.
3 Log on to your computer as required, using the keyboard to enter your login information. If your computer
does not require you to log on, allow the computer to reach its default desktop screen.
