Voice Quality Troubleshooting Guide
7. Program the following numbers in the Analog Trunks form:
-
In the Milliwatt Test Trunk Number field, enter the trunk index number of the trunk that
will provide the Milliwatt tone to the trunk under test.

In the CO Telephone Number field, enter the CO telephone number (maximum 26
digits) of the LS trunk that you want to test.
8. To have the recommended settings from the results of the Line Quality Test applied auto-
matically to a trunk, enable the Auto Select option in the Analog Trunks form of the trunk.
9. Make a test call using ARS, or from an external phone, to one of the trunks and verify that
milliwatt tone is received.

INDIVIDUAL OR BATCH LINE QUALITY TEST

Run these tests after business hours during periods of low call traffic.
To run the tests:
1. Ensure that you have configured the system to support testing. See
-
"Configure System for Testing using Central Office Numbers" on page 57, or
-
"Configure System for Testing using Loopback" on page 57.
2. Access the Line Quality Measurement form.

Click Run Test.
-
Select the Test Type:
-To test a single trunk select Individual Line, then select the PLID of the trunk.
-To run the test on all the eligible LS trunks in the system, select Batch Line. The PLID
field is disabled. The test may take up to 12 minutes to return results depending
on the number of configured lines.
3. Click Run.
4. If the test is successful, the test results are displayed in the bottom frame of the form.
5. Enter the recommended Balanced Network Setting and Trunk Category in the Analog
Trunks form. If you previously set Auto Select to Yes in the Analog Trunks form, the
system automatically updates these fields with the recommended settings.

INDIVIDUAL OR BATCH DISTORTION/ECHO TEST

This test takes approximately 15 minutes to complete on each trunk. While the test is running
on a trunk, the system takes the trunk out of service.
CAUTION: Only run this test at the request of Mitel Technical Support. System
performance could be degraded while the test is running.
To run the tests
1. Ensure that you have configured the system to support testing using Central Office numbers
or Loopback. See
