Static IP or DHCP Client
Important
If you select DHCP client the network IP address and sub-net mask must be provided by a
DHCP server on that network. If you select Static you must specify a unique IP address and
a subnet mask.
DHCP Server Settings
When Mode is set to Static, you can select to let the port act as a DHCP server.
The DHCP start and end addresses must be on the same subnet as the port's static IP.
98-165591-B
Make sure that the networks do not use IP address ranges that overlap.
Do not connect units with the IP address 192.168.1.3 to the Base Unit.
This IP address is reserved.
The host name is used for identifying the VSAT system, and is displayed in
the web interface (right side of top line, next to the product name). The
default host name is ACU. You can change the name. Letters (a-z), digits
(0-9) and hyphen (-) are allowed as legal characters.
Note: The host name must start with a letter.
Port 1 is the service port and is used to access the web interface. By default
this port is configured as DHCP server and has the static IP address
http://192.168.0.1; the current value can be shown in the Base Unit display
(NETWORK > PORT 1 IP).
If you want a different setup for Port 1, you can change the IP settings.
You get the default settings back by resetting to factory default.
Port 2 and 3 can be used for connecting a user to the Internet, if set up by
the service provider.
Port 4 is a Management port and is configured to be a DHCP client. It can
be used e.g. to connect a PC on a corporate network to the web interface.
You can change the IP settings according to your needs, e.g. to use Port 4
for user data instead.
Internal LAN port, not available.
Port 5 is for connection to the internal modem and is set to static IP.
The wireless port can be connected to one of the other ports. Set here
which of the ports 1 to 4 you want to access with WLAN. If you want to
access the web interface with WLAN, select the port used for accessing the
web interface (Port 1 or Port 4 by default). For details on WLAN setup, see
To configure WLAN on page 4-10.
For Port 1, the DHCP server is enabled by default. This means the EXPLORER
6075LX will act as server when you connect to Port 1!
