1 Remove the preload adjuster knob screw.
Remove the knob.
2 Press down firmly and squarely on the socket wrench and unthread the
top cap.
To avoid damage to the top cap hex, use a socket with a flat sharp
edged surface. File the edge of the 24 mm socket attachment flat as
needed.
Remove the coil spring assembly.
Remove the top cap from the coil spring.
