To safely move to the operating position, do the following:
open the shut-off valve (Fig. 10),
lower rake's trolley by means of hydraulic lifter as slow as possible in order to better absorb
it when touching the ground,
make sure there is nobody in the place where you are going to lower the rake,
take out raking arms from transport holders, put them into the rotor and lock with cotters,
lower safety guards,
extend the swath guard to required length.

5.6. Preparing the rake for operation

NOTICE:
Before sale SaMASZ protects the cylinders with special grease against weather which may cause
premature wear. Before operating the rake, remove the excess grease from the cylinders.
Engaging the rake's drive should be performed once the rotor is placed on the ground.
The following should be performed in workplace and as rake is in operating position:
control height of set rake tines,
if need be, lift rake up again to transport position, close safety valves for trolley's cylinder
feeding (Fig. 10), and readjust raking height according to instructions provided in Fig. 19 and
Fig. 20.
WARNING:
There is a risk that the rake can lower from transport position. Perform all
maintenance works with closed shut-off valve for trolley's cylinder feeding
(Fig. 10).
WARNING:
Machine can fall accidentally due to rake's lifting assembly not being tight.
When operating the rake being in transport position avoid walking under the
machine parts.
WARNING:
Before lowering the machine's rotors make sure that no unauthorized
personnel is around.
Adjust the height of ground following wheel to properly set the gear in working position,

Raking height can be adjusted only with trolley in lifted up position (
