5.6. Preparing the rake for operation

NOTE:
During storing of the machines in company SaMASZ the cylinders are
protected by special grease in order to secure them against weather which
may cause their premature wear. Before starting the operation excess grease
should be removed from the cylinders.
On operation site:
Turn tractor's engine off and take the keys off,
Protect the tractor against rolling down,
connect PTO shaft extension of the tractor rpm (unless only one extension was taken out or
connect the complete PTO shaft),
preadjust raking height with knobs on both the rear and the front rotor as provided herein
Fig. 20 and Fig. 21,
turn on hydraulic valve on driving cylinders of carts,
NOTE:
There is danger present of accidental falling of the machine from transport
position. Any service works should be performed with valve off on driving
cylinders of carts.
NOTE:
Accidental machine falling may be caused by rake's lifting assembly being
not tight. When operating the rake being in transport position it is forbidden
to walk under the machine parts.
lower the rotors by means of tractor's single-side operation controller,
NOTE:
Prior to lowering of machine's rotors make sure that no unauthorized
personnel is around.
check tillers for height and leveling,
if need be, lift the rake once again to transport position, turn safety vale off on cart cylinders
powering and readjust raking height,
adjust height of ground following wheels in order to set gear to operating position,
NOTE:
Raking height adjustment is possible only with carts lifted.
