Preparing rake for transport on public roads To meet safety precautions concerning transport on the public roads the mower should be equipped with warning plates (these can be found with the machine set).

    OPERATOR’S MANUAL ROTARY RAKE The guard should be protected against rotating by securing the shaft set chains to immovable parts of the tractor and the rake. Fig. 17. Instruction of PTO shaft shortening NOTE: The PTO shaft should remain mounted only for the rake's operation time. For transport and service time the shaft should be disconnected from the tractor.

Preparing the rake for operation NOTE: During storing of the machines in company SaMASZ the cylinders are protected by special grease in order to secure them against weather which may cause their premature wear. Before starting the operation excess grease should be removed from the cylinders.

It is forbidden to lower raking arms below 1 cm from the ground as this may cause damages to the machine such as bending the raking arms, breaking the linkage or the gear, faster wearing of raking tines, damaging the turf and causing contamination to the collected forage, etc.

Operation NOTE: Driving the machine onto short and at the same time high ground unevenness may lead to damaging the machine. Such solution, standard-applied in trolleys with 4 wheels and wide tires, allowed for reducing pressure of rake onto the ground, which is of particular importance on soft grounds, such as turfs.

    ROTARY RAKE OPERATOR’S MANUAL Prior to any repair or service works the machine should be cleaned thoroughly and any grass, dirt or mud removed. Upon inspecting any bolt connections and pins for clearance, assess whether the machine is in proper operating condition. Replace any worn or damaged bolts, pegs, pins and other parts with new ones.
