11.1 Overview
Commissioning requirements
You must ensure the safety of your plant. You therefore need to perform a complete
functional test and the necessary safety checks before the final commissioning of a plant.
Also allow for any possible foreseeable errors in the tests. This avoids endangering persons
or equipment during operation.
Unexpected movement of machines due to inactive safety functions
Safety functions that are inactive or have not been adjusted accordingly can cause
unexpected machine movements that can lead to serious injury or death.
• Note the information in the relevant product documentation before commissioning.
• Carry out a safety inspection for safety-related functions throughout the entire system,
