The DC-1000 is an optional expansion card for the Prodigy/CME PC/104 card. The DC-1000 is a Synchronous Serial
Interface (SSI) for absolute encoders, and connects to the Prodigy/CME PC/104 card's Extension Connector J1 (see
Figure 4-1 on page 69). The data of the absolute encoders is read through the DC-1000 interface, and is then
transmitted to the Prodigy/CME Magellan Motion Processor. Two different encoder data formats are supported,
binary and grey code. The following table shows which version of the DC-1000 SSI Option Card should be specified
for these different encodings.

The DC-1000 can accept connections up to four axes at a read rate of 20 kHz.
