4.2.12 Power Connectors
J21 can be used to provide +5V power to the card. If the Prodigy/CME PC/104 card is powered through the PC/
104 bus then this connection is not necessary, however it is often used during prototyping for convenience. This
connector is used with the wall outlet power supply cable set PW-2001-KIT which is included with DK (Developer's
Kit) version of the Prodigy/CME-PC/104 card.
J21 is a 2 pin 1.50 mm pitch header. The table below shows the pin connections:

To minimize the risk of unintended machine motion during powerup, care should be taken to control the overall
powerup sequence of the Prodigy/CME card and connected system motion amplifiers. The recommended se-
quence is to first powerup the Prodigy/CME card, followed by powerup of the motion amplifiers. The time delay
to ensure stable operation of the control electronics before powering up the amplifiers varies depending on the
system's power supplies and configuration, but a typical safe figure is 500 mSec - 1,000 mSec.
