AT Command Setup
1. Install the V.34 modem as described in Chapter 2, Installation .
2. Select the proper communications port on the terminal or terminal emulator program and
ensure 10 bit ASCII is selected.
3. If a communications software package is being used, it will interface with the modem and no
further setup is required. Refer to the documentation for the communication software
package.
4. If the modem is being used interactively on a terminal or with a terminal emulation package,
issue AT$ and then press Enter.
5. If the V.34 is connected properly, it will respond to the command by displaying the basic AT
command set help menu.
6. Use the commands as described in this Chapter to configure and operate the V.34 as required.
Note
ITU-T V.13 simulated carrier (&En) and flow control (\Qn) options override the &Rn settings for CTS in
data mode.
S-Register Command Examples
Example: To view the value of S-Register 2, type:
ATS2?<cr>
The response might be:
005<cr><lf>
OK<cr><lf>
Example: To set the value of S-Register 2 to equal 5, type:
ATS2=5<cr>
Example: To view the value of the last S-Register that was queried, type:
AT?<cr>
