4. Configure the authentication server phone numbers) by typing:
AT&Z9=nnnnnnnnnn (for the Primary Server)
AT&Z8=nnnnnnnnnn (for the Backup/Secondary Server)
Note
The
AT&Z9
secondary authentication server in the modem's phone cell 9 and phone cell 8, respectively.
If a secondary server is not required, leave phone cell 8 empty.
5. To configure the DTE rate to match the speed of UART of the equipment to be protected by
SAM, type the following command:
AT\Tn
where n selects the DTE rate. For example, AT\T7 sets the DTE speed to 9600 bps.
6. Configure the SAM-to-server redial delay as necessary by typing:
AT%Jn
where n is the delay interval after a failed connection before the modem redials the server.
(Values are: 0 = 20 second delay, 1 to 30 = the delay in minutes.)
7. Enable SAM mode operation and make it non-volatile by typing:
AT%S16&W or AT%S17&W
where %S16 activates SAM only and where %S17 activates SAM with SteadFast Security.
(Refer to the paragraphs on
required by Steadfast Security.)
8. To enable/disable remote configuration, type *R0 or *R1, respectively.
9. If desired, disable the command parser via front panel (recommended).
