Installing the Dual V.34 Modem

The Dual V.34 card may be installed in any slot of its housing. To install the modem:
1. Check that the X3 and X4 jumpers are properly set for each modem for switched network
or 2-wire private line operation.
2. Insert the card into its slot and slide it in until it makes contact with the rear connectors.
3. Pull down the insertion/extraction tab on the front panel and firmly push the card in until it
seats in the rear connectors.
4. Attach the proper cables/adapters as described in this chapter.
5. To remove a card, pull the front panel insertion/extraction tab to unseat the card, then use the
tab to remove card.

shows the cabling of a typical network installation when the Dual V.34 is housed in
SpectraComm shelves and enclosures.
