Cooking zones/areas and sensors
Operating time limit
For safety reasons, each cooking zone/area
is provided with an operating time limit. If the
heat setting is not changed for a prolonged
period of time, the cooking zone/area is au-
tomatically switched off and the residual heat
symbol 'H' is activated.
The maximum operating time is set in accord-
ance with the most recently selected heat set-
ting.

Cooking area

It makes sense to use the cooking area if you
wish to use a large pot or roaster.
Please ensure that you position the cookware
correctly:
• Always place the cookware in the middle
of the cooking area.
• When using oval or rectangular roasters,
ensure that the middle covers both cook-
ing area sections.
• The cookware should cover at least ¾ of
the cooking area. It is not recommended
to place a circular pot in the middle of a
cooking area.
1. Touch the cooking area sensor (8).
2. Set the desired power output setting us-
ing the slider sensor (12).

Booster function

When the booster function is active, the cook-
ing zone/area heats up for 5 minutes at maxi-
mum output. After this time the cooking zone/
area will once again revert to the original heat
setting. If the original heat setting was '

The booster function is ideal for searing food
rapidly or for boiling water. It is also suitable
for bringing to the boil rapidly and then contin-
uing to cook at a reduced temperature. Select
a mid-level setting (e.g. '

The booster function can be switched on for
all cooking zones and the cooking area.
1. Press the sensor for the cooking zone/
area that you wish to use the booster
function for.
The heat setting indicator of the cooking
zone/area will flash.

3. In order to deactivate the booster function
early, touch the sensor for the cooking
zone/area for which you wish to deacti-
vate the booster function.
