Heat-retaining function

You can gently keep cooked dishes warm us-
ing the heat-retaining function.
1. Select the cooking zone/area for which
you wish to activate the heat-retaining
function.
The heat setting indicator will flash.

2. Touch the sensor (14).
The symbol 'u' will light up in the heat set-
ting display for the selected cooking zone/
area.
3. To switch off the heat-retaining function
once again, touch the corresponding
cooking zone/area sensor and use the
slider sensor to set the desired heat set-
ting (to switch off: heat setting '0').
Switching off individual
cooking zones/areas
1. Touch the cooking zone sensor/area
which you would like to switch off.
2. Touch the slider sensor (12) at the left end
or swipe to the left using your finger over
the slider sensor until the heat setting dis-
play shows '0'.
After a few seconds, the heat setting dis-
play will change to 'H' or '– –'.
CAUTION
Risk of burns!
Only switch off a cooking zone/area
using the sensors and never do it by
taking the cookware off the cook-
ing zone/area. If you remove the pot
from the cooking zone/area, it will be
reactivated as soon as a pot or other
object made of ferromagnetic mate-
rial is placed on it.
Cooking zones/areas and sensors
Do not place objects on cooking
zones/areas which have not been
switched off. There is a risk that the
cooking zone/area could be activated
and the object heated up.

Protective installations

The hob has a variety of protective settings
which warn of hazards and which protect the
appliance from damage.
Residual heat display
During cooking, the heat from the pot is
transferred to the glass ceramic surface of
the cooking zone/area, which then becomes
hot. If you switch off the cooking zone/area or
the entire hob, the residual heat setting '
show in the heat setting display or a cooking
zone/area which is still hot.
If the temperature of the cooking zone/area
falls below a specific value, the residual heat

' will go out.
Automatic reduction in performance
The temperature of the electronic elements
inside the hob are constantly measured. If the
heat increases too much, the hob is automat-
ically switched off.
