24. Check Vertical Output Accuracy
a. Test equipment setup is shown in Fig. 5-36.
b. Leave the 50
amplitude calibrator signals connected
to the Type 1S1.
c. Disconnect the probe from the test oscilloscope vertical
input.
d. Connect a BNC/banona patch cord from the Type 1S1
VERT OUTPUT jack to the test oscilloscope vertical input
connector.
e. Set the amplitude calibrator Volts switch to the .6 position.
f. Trigger the indicator oscilloscope display with the Type
1S1 TRIGGER SENSITIVITY control.
g. Trigger the test oscilloscope display, obtaining a dis-
play similar to that shown in Fig. 5-40A. (The exact ap-
pearance of the waveform is not important.)
h. Set the test oscilloscope Input Atten switch to R = .
i. Retrigger the test oscilloscope display.
j. With the Type 1S1 DC OFFSET control, position
the base of the test oscilloscope display at the horizontal cen-
terline (see Fig. 5-40B).
k. Set the test oscilloscope Vc Range switch to +1.1.
l. Check that the top of the waveform is within 0.3 cm
of the horizontal centerline. (See Fig. 5-40C). This indicates
an amplitude of 600 mv (±3%) at the Type 1S1 VERT OUT-
PUT jack, or 200 mv per cm of display on the screen of the
indicator oscilloscope.
m. Remove the patch cord from the VERT OUTPUT jack.
25. Check Offset Output Accuracy
a. Leave the 50
amplitude calibrator signals connected
to the Type 1S1.
b. Reset the following test oscilloscope controls:

c. Connect the BNC/banana patch cord from the Type
1S1 OFFSET OUTPUT jack to the test oscilloscope vertical
input connector.
d. Set the test oscilloscope for a free-running trace.
e. Position the trace at the horizontal centerline with the
test oscilloscope vertical Position control.
f. Set the Input Coupling switch to Dc.
g. With the Type 1S1 DC OFFSET "control, reposition the
test oscilloscope trace to the horizontal centerline.
h. Adjust the Type 1S1 SAMPLES/CM control for a normal
display on the indicator oscilloscope screen.
