3) Turn the large FMS Knob to highlight 'CUM' or 'REM'. The statistics for each leg can be
viewed by turning the small FMS Knob to select the desired leg. The Trip Planning Map
also displays the selected data.
Selecting waypoints for waypoint mode:
1) From the 'Aux - Trip Planning' Page, press the WPTs Softkey; or press the MENU Key,
highlight 'Waypoints Mode', and press the ENT Key. The cursor is positioned in the
waypoint field directly below the 'FPL' Field.
2) Turn the FMS Knobs to select the desired waypoint (or select from the 'Page Menu'
Window 'Set WPT to Present Position' if that is what is desired), and press the ENT Key.
The cursor moves to the second waypoint field.
3) Turn the FMS Knobs to select the desired waypoint, and press the ENT Key. The statistics
for the selected leg are displayed.
Entering manual data for trip statistics calculations:
1) From the 'Aux - Trip Planning' Page, press the Manual Softkey or select 'Manual
Mode' from the 'Page Menu' Window, and press the ENT Key. The cursor may now be
positioned in any field within the input data box.
2) Turn the FMS Knobs to move the cursor onto the 'Departure Time' Field and enter the
desired value. Press the ENT Key. The statistics are calculated using the new value
and the cursor moves to the next entry field. Repeat until all desired values have been
entered.
RaIM (RECEIVER aUToNoMoUS INTEGRITy MoNIToRING)
PREdICTIoN
In most cases performing a RAIM prediction is not necessary. However, in some cases, the
selected approach may be outside the SBAS coverage area, and it may be necessary to perform
a RAIM prediction for the intended approach.
Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring (RAIM) is a GPS receiver function that performs
a consistency check on all tracked satellites. RAIM ensures that the available satellite geometry
allows the receiver to calculate a position within a specified RAIM protection limit (2.0 nautical
miles for oceanic and enroute, 1.0 nm for terminal, and 0.3 nm for non-precision approaches).
During oceanic, enroute, and terminal phases of flight, RAIM is available nearly 100% of the
time.
The RAIM prediction function also indicates whether RAIM is available at a specified date
and time. RAIM computations predict satellite coverage within ±15 min of the specified arrival
date and time.
Because of the tighter protection limit on approaches, there may be times when RAIM is not
available. The system automatically monitors RAIM and warns with an alert message when
it is not available. If RAIM is not predicted to be available for the final approach course, the
