3) INFORMATION: The perlon cord does not need to be isolated from
the laminating resin.
4) Cut the beginning and end of the perlon cord free and remove it from the
laminate (see fig. 9).
Connecting the perlon cable
The coupling piece is used to give the ends of the perlon cables a detach­
able connection so the lock can be released.
1) Cut the perlon cable to length according to the patient.
2) Screw the threaded sleeve onto the first perlon cable (see fig. 2, item 4).
3) Thread the second perlon cable through the coupling piece.
4) Then slide the spring over the perlon cable and screw on the threaded
sleeve.
5) Secure the perlon cable and preinstalled threaded sleeve in the blind
hole of the lock lever.
6) Check that the threaded sleeve is securely positioned in the blind hole of
the lock lever and use 636K14 Loctite to prevent it from being pushed
out if desired.
6 Cleaning
Clean the orthosis joint promptly after contact with water containing salt,
chlorine or soap, or if it gets dirty.
1) Rinse the orthosis joint with clean, fresh water.
2) Dry the orthosis joint with a cloth or allow it to air-dry. Avoid exposure to
direct heat (e.g. from an oven or radiator).

7 Maintenance

INFORMATION
The product may be exposed to increased loads by the patient.
► Shorten the maintenance intervals according to the expected loads.
The manufacturer recommends a semi-annual inspection to verify functional­
ity and check for wear and tear to the orthotic joints.
Spare parts are listed in the section "Components/design".
8 Disposal
Dispose of the product in accordance with national regulations.
