2.3 Design
The 17B97* components facilitate the fabrication of a leg orthosis using lam­
inating technology and prepreg technology. The orthotic knee joints with a
concealed lock and short lock lever are designed especially for unlocking
with a pull-release cable. The perlon cable is positioned with the threaded
sleeve in the blind hole of the lock lever.
The orthotic joints have a detachable connection with the lamination bars.
The 17Y106 PVC profile material is used to establish a connection between
the two 17Y128 lamination bars.

3 Intended use

3.1 Indications for use
The orthotic knee joints are to be used exclusively in pairs to provide orthot­
ic treatment for a patient's lower limbs and are intended for processing
using lamination technology.
3.2 Indications
Partial or total paralysis of the leg muscles.
Indications must be determined by the physician.
3.3 Combination possibilities
The 17B97* orthotic knee joints can be combined with the 17B98* orthotic
ankle joints (see 647H167 instructions for use).
