Replacing the SCSI backplane

Requirements
– The server has been switched off
– The power cables have been uplugged
– Rack model only: The server has been pulled out
– The housing cover has been removed
– The processor cover has been removed (see
Removing the SCSI backplane
Ê Unlock all hard disk modules and pull them forward a few centimeters.
Ê Remove any tape drives that are installed (or their module frame) from the
bays (see Options Guide).

Ê Unplug all cables from the SCSI backplane.

The cable plugs connected at the bottom of the SCSI backplane are
easier to access if you reach through the empty bay for the accessible
drives.
