3-9.1 As sem ble the bear ing blocks onto the
gauge wheel rock shaft tube and in stall the
disc ad just frame us ing 5/8" x 11-1/2" bolts
and nuts on the 2225 or 5/8" x 14-1/4" bolts
and nuts on the 2227. (See Fig ure 3-11).
3-9.2 In sert the bear ing shims as needed be -
tween each set of bear ings. Use only enough
shims to al low the bear ings to ro tate freely
on the rock shaft. Then tighten the cap
screws.
f. Two an gle ad just pins are in stalled in the
outer mount ing bracket with hair pins. Make
sure an gle ad just pins are as sem bled as
shown in Fig ure 3-9. These an gle ad just pins
are used to ad just the an gle of the disc gangs
(See Sec tion 4-4.7).
3-9.3 In stall the base end of the 8" stroke cyl -
in der(s) on the cyl in der an chors(s) on the
frame and the rod end(s) to the an chor on
the disc ad just frame. The hose ports should
face up. An op tional ratchet jack may be
used in place of the hy drau lic cyl in der on the
2225 se ries.
3-9.4 2225 Ra dius Rod In stal la tion Only —
For ma chines with odd number of shanks:
a. In stall the ad just able end of the (2) long ra -
dius rods to the in side of the disc ad just frame
with 1" x 8" cap screws, nuts. In stall the fixed
end to the in side of the rear disc frame arm
with 1"x 4-1/2" cap screws and nuts.
b. In stall one end of the short ra dius rod to the
outer right side of the disc ad just frame us ing
the same bolt the long ra dius rod is on. In stall
the other end of the short ra dius rod to the
out side of the right front disc frame arm with a
1" x 4-1/2" cap screw and nut.
c. In stall one end of the me dium ra dius rod to
the outer left side of the disc ad just frame us -
ing the same bolt that the long ra dius rod is
on. In stall the other end of the me dium ra dius
rod to the out side of the left front disc frame
arm with a 1" x 4-1/2" cap screw and nut.
