setting/CheCKing Versa system PressUre

The system pressure is used for multiple functions in the Versa;
• Displace samples from the 22mL vials
• To sweep the unit between samples
• Pressurize sample vials
If the system pressure is improperly set it is possible to see a
combination of the following issues;
• Incomplete filling of the sample loop
a. Vials empty after Sample Fill (pressure too high)
b. Vials have not displaced enough sample (pressure too low)
• Incomplete sample pathway cleaning (pressure too low)
• Not able to reach method pressurize setpoint (pressure too low)
The system comes factory set at 18psig. To verify the system pressure go to tools | set system Pressure and follow the
on-screen prompts. Turning the pressure regulator knob clockwise increases the pressure. Allow at least 30 seconds for
the pressure to equilibrate between adjustments.

PreVentatiVe maintenanCe

A carefully designed and faithfully executed preventative maintenance program is the best method for maintaining
your Versa. Adherence to scheduled maintenance in the areas of cleaning, checking of parts, and lubrication will help
maintain the performance standards of your unit and decrease the chances of down time.
The preventative maintenance schedule (below) lists procedures that can be performed without the assistance of a
Teledyne Tekmar service representative. The more familiar you become with these procedures, the less time it will take
to complete them.

daily maintenance Checks

• gas supply - Verify the gas source is supplying an input pressure of 45-140psi to the Versa. If you are using a gas
cylinder, verify the cylinder is at 500+psi. If not, replace the cylinder.
• inspect Carousel Vial Positions - Check the vial carousel for foreign objects. Clean if necessary.

weekly maintenance Checks

• Perform daily Checks
• Leak Check - Run a leak check to ensure that the unit is leak tight.
