This section describes:
•Prerequisites and site preparation for installation of the Versa
•Unpacking and checking the Versa shipment
•Major components of the Versa
Note: Equipment installation and operation is easier if you use the illustrations and photos to locate and identify the
components on the Versa.
operatInG enVIronment
The Versa operates at temperatures between 10° C and 30° C (50° F and 86° F) with humidity levels between 10% and
90%. These temperatures and humidity levels are consistent with a typical lab environment.
locatIon selectIon
The Versa requires a clear surface area with no shelves or overhanging obstructions. The Headspace is 21" (53.34cm)
high, 12" (30.48cm) wide, 21" (53.34cm) deep, and weighs 40 lbs (18,14kg). Make sure the surface where you place the
Versa is capable of supporting the unit's weight. Make sure the unit sits firmly and evenly on the surface.
poWer reqUIrements
After selecting and clearing a location for the Versa, check the availability of the required grounded outlets. The
Versa uses:
• 115V/230V power at 50/60 Hz
• One grounded, three-pronged receptacle for the main power cord
The power light on the upper-left, front of the Versa indicates power is supplied to the unit. The main power switch is
located in the middle on the left-hand side of the back panel.
Gas sUpply reqUIrements
The Versa operation requires the availability of ultra-high purity helium or nitrogen (as pressurization gas). Verify that
the following items are in compliance:
1. Supply gas purity must be 99.999% and < 0.5ppm hydrocarbon tested.
Versa User Manual
pre-Installation
Never connect a flammable gas (such as hydrogen) as the
gas supply to the Versa. Venting of this gas in the standby
creates an explosion hazard.
To avoid material and/or component damage, keep the
Versa away from corrosive substances (gas, liquid, or solid).
