ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

DIAGNOSING BATTERY CONDITION

The condition of the battery can be eas-
ily checked by inspecting the charge in-
dicator on the battery. If the charge indi-
cator is green, it indicates that the bat-
tery is fully charged. If it is black, the
battery needs to be charged. If it is white,
the battery should be replaced.
CAUTION
Add pure water to the battery up
to
the
prescribed
level,
needed. Do not open or add wa-
ter if your battery is labeled as a
"maintenance-free" battery.
When using a battery charger, do
not exceed 10 amps. Excessive
quick-charging will decrease bat-
tery life.
Do not short-circuit the battery
terminals. It may cause battery
damage and personal injury.
When disconnecting the battery,
remove the negative (-) terminal
first. Attach the positive terminal
(+) first when reconnecting the
battery.
Recharge the battery every 2
months when the tractor is not
in use.
Always disconnect the negative
terminal (-) before welding any-
where on the tractor or attached
implement.
