Fault – Cause – Remedy
WARNING
Repair and maintenance of the medical device
must be carried out by experts.
Dräger recommends that a service contract is
obtained with DrägerService and that all
repairs are performed by DrägerService.
Dräger further recommends that only
authentic Dräger repair parts are used for
maintenance.
If the above are not complied with, the correct
functioning of the medical device may be
compromised.
Observe chapter "Maintenance".
Fault
Bearing with friction brake turns
too easily/stiffly.
Bearing with friction brake and
pneumatic brake or
electromagnetic brake turns too
easily/stiffly (with brake
released).
Bearing with pneumatic brake or
electromagnetic brake turns too
stiffly.
Electromagnetic brake does not
release.
Electromagnetic brake does not
engage.
Pneumatic brake does not
release.
Continuous hissing sound.

WARNING
In an emergency, the arm system can be turned
without releasing the brake.
However, this could damage the brake system.
NOTE

Cause
Friction brake is adjusted too
loose/tight.
Friction brake is adjusted too

Operator error – brake is not
released.
Electromagnet or key not
working.
Electromagnet not supplied with
current.
Pneumatic valve or brake key not
working (no hissing sound when
actuated).
Pneumatic connections
defective.
Remedy
Inform DrägerService.
Inform DrägerService.
Press the brake release button.
Inform DrägerService.
Inform DrägerService.
Check the compressed air
system. If the compressed air
system is in order, inform
DrägerService.
