9.1 Safety Information Summary

Strictly follow all safety practices given in section 4 of this manual. The most critical ones are repeated
here.
CAUTIONS
Never use the Noraxon Ultium System on a person with an implanted pacemaker
Never operate the Noraxon Ultium System within 1 meter of any critical medical device

9.2 Attaching the Sensor to a Patient or Subject

9.2.1 Force Sensitive Resistors (FSRs)
FSR's allow custom placement on the foot. They can also be used in other applications that require a
pressure sensor. The sensitivity of the FSR's is adjustable, which gives the user freedom to set the
pressure for each subject or application. FSR's are available in two sizes: 1 sq. cm sensing area
(standard size) and 1.5-inch square. The FSR's are replaceable parts and it is recommended to
purchase additional FSR's to keep in-stock.
Tape the sensors to the foot as shown below; either side of the sensor may be taped to the foot.
(Rev C May 2019)
The Footswitch SmartLeads can be secured in
place using Noraxon supplied double-sided
adhesive tape and/or elastic straps. Straps are
recommended if dynamic movements are
expected.
