3. Replace the I/O chassis and reattach the cables. For more information, refer to
Enclosure Basic I/O module
4. Power the Storage Node back on using the Node's front power button.
5. Using ActiveScale SM, verify that:
– The Storage Node is online and linked to the Storage Enclosure.
– The Storage Enclosure has no errors.

3.6.3 Replacing Storage Enclosure Basic fans

Warning: Do not touch the fan blades. Touching the fan blades can result in
injury.

Warning: Replace rear fans quickly. If a failed fan is removed for prolonged
periods of time, the risk of overheating is elevated. To prevent a back flow of hot
air, Western Digital Corporation recommends leaving the failed fan in place until
you are ready to install a replacement.

3.6.3.1 Removing a Storage Enclosure Basic fan

To remove a fan:
1. From the rear of the chassis, press the release button on the top right of the fan.
2. Using a moderate amount of force, tilt the top of the fan out until clear of the rubber bumpers attached
to the chassis.
