ActiveScale™ X100 Support Guide
1. Remove the rails attached to the faulty Storage Node and attach them to the replacement node.
a. Unscrew the two screws that attach the rails to the Storage Node.

b. Attach the rails to the replacement Storage Node.
2. Align the rails on the replacement Storage Node with the rack rails.
3. Push the Storage Node into the rack.
4. Tighten the thumb screws on the front of the Storage Node.
5. Replace the drives in the same order that they were removed in. For more information, refer to
Installing a 2.5 inch drive
6. Reconnect the cables in the back of the Storage Node in the original configuration listed in
cabling
on page 117.
7. Power on the Storage Node using the power button on the front panel.
8. If Western Digital Corporation support is not onsite, contact customer support for the final post-
replacement procedures for bringing the Storage Node online.

Caution: Disconnect all power sources before servicing.
