3. With the rack adapters still attached, remove the Management Interconnect from the rack.
4. Remove the screws securing the rack adapters to the Management Interconnect.
Important: Retain the rack adapters and screws. They will be used with the
replacement Management Interconnect.
5. Record the serial number of the faulty device for return purposes.

3.2.1.2 Installing the Management Interconnect into a rackless system

Important: Replacement Management Interconnects do not come with new rack
adapters and screws. Use the rack adapters that you removed from the faulty
Management Interconnect. If you need replacement rack adapters, contact
Western Digital Corporation support.
Note: Depending on the configuration of the rack, you might need to reconnect
the cables before putting the Management Interconnect into the rack.
To install a replacement Management Interconnect into a rackless ActiveScale X100 system:
1. Screw the rack adapters into both sides of the Management Interconnect.

2. From the back of the rack, position the rack adapters over the cage nuts.
3. Using the four screws, secure the adapters into places.
4. Reconnect the cables in the back of the Management Interconnect.

3.2.2 Replacing Management Interconnects (racked system)

Caution: Disconnect all power sources before servicing.
