Removing the top stage and elevation tube from the outer tube

Remove the top stage and elevation tube from the outer tube as follows:
WARNING!: Ensure all pressure is vented before disassembling any part of the
telescopic column.
Ensure the column is fully extended before removing the gas strut support screw.

Using the Schrader valve cap, reduce pedestal pressure to zero.

Fully extend the column.

NOTE:
With full extension of the column the gas strut (16) will have approximately 5 mm residual
compression.

Turn the clamp fully counterclockwise and pull the top stage and elevation tube out of the outer
tube.

Pull the gas strut (2) out of the tapered ram.

Dismantling the outer tube

Dismantle the outer tube as follows
5.1
From the inside of the top housing (1), remove the clamp assembly (28) and shim (6).
5.2
Remove end cap (11), screw (10) and washer (9) securing clamp knob (8) to shaft (7). Unscrew
shaft and remove from top housing.
5.3
Prise off three top housing covers (27) and remove three springs (26).
5.4
Note orientation of struts (2, 22) and remove two screws (3) securing each strut to top housing
(1).
5.5
Note orientation and position of the skid clamp (15) on the tube, then remove screw (13), lever
(14), washer (12) and two nuts (21). Slide the skid clamp off the tube.

Carefully lever out the snap ring (19) retaining outer tube lower cover (18) in tube. Remove the
cover and inspect O-ring (17). Remove and discard if required.

Separating the top stage and elevation tube

Separate the top stage from the elevation tube as follows:

At each roller housing (18), remove four screws (20) and washers (19).
