Dismantling the elevation tube

7 Dismantle the elevation tube as follows
7.1 If required, extract three pins (12) and pull elevation tube end (13) out of elevation tube (9).
7.2 Unscrew and remove the lever (8). remove the clamp pad (4).
7.3 Examine the three self-adhesive wipers (25) and remove if necessary.
7.4 Remove two screws (7) securing catch (6) to levation tube (9).
7.5 If required, remove grubscrew (5) and extract pin (26). Pull tank tube clamp (3) off elevation tube
(9).

Dismantling the top stage

8 Dismantle the top stage as follows
8.1 Remove four screws (18) securing 100mm levelling bowl (10) to tank top plate (5).
8.2 Remove eight screws (3) securing steering wheel (4) to tank top plate (5).
NOTE: Dismantling of the tank beyond the items detailed here should not be attempted.
8.3 If required, drive out the pin (7) securing safety catch (8) to tank top plate (5). Remove steel ball
(9) and spring (10).
8.4 If required, remove valve cap (13) and unscrew valve core (12). Remove valve cap strap (14).
8.5 If required, unscrew pressure gauge from tank top plate (5).
8.6 If required, remove knob (6) from changeover shaft.
NOTE: Knob is retained using Loctite 480.
