6.7.4 Connecting the Mains (Power) Supply

WARNING! – ELECTRIC SHOCK
Only connect to an earthed supply. This unit is a Class 1 construction and must be connected to
a Protective Earth connection (GND).
When wiring the mains cable, ensure that the earth wire is the longest one, so that if the cable
is pulled out accidentally, the earth terminal disconnects last.
WARNING! – ELECTRIC SHOCK
A suitable approved and rated mains isolation device must be installed. The device must be clearly
marked and easily accessible (within a 2 m/6½ ft radius) to allow the control unit to be switched
off when at the unit.
1. Referring to Figure 7 on page 20, loosen the 4 off lid screws and carefully open the unit. Note that the PCB is
mounted in the lid of the control unit.
2. Pass the power supply cable through the M20 cable gland and loop the cable before connecting it to the
terminals as shown (see the table below for details).
3. Secure the cable in place with the clamp and 2 off screws.

6.8 ALARM SETTINGS

The FFA has two independent alarm relay outputs whose levels are indicated by the small bell icons (see Main Screens
on page 22).
ALARM 1 – High-level alarm: this level can be adjusted by the user to suit the application.
ALARM 2 – Early Warning alarm: this level can be adjusted as required.
The alarms are non-latching, so that when the plant returns to normal operation, the alarms are automatically cleared.
The alarm relays may be connected to an external latching alarm module, for more information please contact Goyen |
Mecair or our local representative.
