8.2.4 Setting and Activating the User PIN

A two-digit User PIN should be set and activated to ensure that settings can only be changed by staff with the
required credentials. However, it can be removed completely from the system using the master password (which
must then be entered every time the PIN screen pops up).
To check the whether a User PIN has been set and is active, proceed as follows:
1. On the Engineering screen (see Main Screens on page 25) select option 1 to view the User PIN (if one is present)
or to set a PIN.
2. This shows the following options for setting and activating the User PIN as applicable.

If a User PIN has been set and is active, option 1 shows a closed lock with a (plus) + sign.
3. Return to the main Settings screen (see Main Screens on page 22) to set the PIN to inactive and change settings
as required.

If a User PIN has not been set, the lock shown is open
press ENTER to activate it (see Figure 13 above).

If a User PIN has been set but is not active, then option 1 shows an open lock with a (plus) + sign.
4. Select option 1 and press ENTER.
5. Using the navigation buttons input the User PIN then press ENTER.
The device now checks the master password and User PIN:
If both are correct, it shows the Locked screen and locks the settings (i.e. they are secure and cannot be edited);

If the master password has been entered or the User PIN is incorrect, the device cannot be locked (it shows the

Unlocked screen) and returns to the main Engineering screen after 2 seconds.
Similarly, if no User Pin was present and it has been set and activated, then entering the master password

unlocks the device settings for editing.
