8 OPERATION

8.1 BASIC FUNCTIONS

8.1.1 Entering the User PIN (Edit Settings)

If you wish to protect your settings it is recommended to set and activate a User PIN, e.g. where the control unit is
placed in areas with unrestricted access. For more information and instructions on Setting and Activating the User
PIN see page 26.
Once the unit has been set up and a User PIN applied, this must be entered before any settings can be changed.
1. On the Default or Settings screen (see Main Screens above), press and hold the ENTER or UP navigation button
to check if a password has been set and is active or if one needs to be set.
2. There are now two options available:
a. If a User PIN has been set and is active, the Unlock screen is displayed, proceed to Step 3.
b. If no User PIN has been set, the Engineering screen is displayed, enabling users to set a User PIN (see section
8.2.4 on page 26). Alternatively, press RIGHT to return to the main Settings screen.

3. Use the navigation buttons to enter User PIN and press ENTER. The device now checks the master password and
the User PIN:
a. If both are correct, the User PIN is set to inactive and the device is unlocked for editing (see Figure 10).
b. If the User PIN is incorrect, the Locked screen is shown and the device returns to the main Settings screen.
Retry re-entering the User PIN or the master password to unlock the device (see section 8.2.4 on page 26
for more information).

When the setup or changes have been completed, the User PIN needs to be set to active. For information on how
to lock the device to prevent editing, see section 8.2.4 on page 26.
NOTE: If the master password has been lost or mislaid, contact Goyen | Mecair for assistance.
