6.2 Checking the engine oil level

Caution
!
The machine must be in horizontal position.
For quality of oil refer to the "table of fuels and lu-
bricants".
Start the engine and run it 1 to 2 minutes with idle
l
speed.
Shut the engine down and wait 2 to 3 minutes.

Pull the dipstick (Fig. 3) out, wipe it off with a lint-
l
free, clean cloth and reinsert it until it bottoms.
Pull the dipstick back out.
l
The oil level must always be between the "MIN"- and
"MAX"-marks.
If the oil level is too low top up oil immediately.
l
If the oil level is too high, determine the cause and
l
drain the oil off.

6.3 Changing engine oil and oil fil-

Danger
!
Danger of scalding!
When draining off hot oil.
By hot oil when unscrewing the engine oil filter.
Caution
!
Drain the engine oil only when the engine is warm.
For quality and quantity of oil refer to the "table of
fuels and lubricants".
Environment
Catch running out oil and dispose of environmen-
tally together with the oil filter cartridge.
Unscrew the oil filler plug.

Place the drain hose (Fig. 4) into the collecting con-

tainer and open the drain plug. Catch running out
oil.
Turn the oil drain plug back in with a new seal ring.

Unscrew the filter cartridge (1) (Fig. 5) using an ap-

propriate tool (2).
