- Page 2 Large Moving Stage Platform Assemble Stands Your MP-78 is shipped to you with all the necessary hardware to complete assembly and set-up. Follow this and the next eight steps to complete the set up of your large moving stage platform. • Attach base plates using (4) 5/16x1/2 screws each found in hardware bag labeled “Base Plate Screws”.
- Page 3 Large Moving Stage Platform Attach Manipulators • Remove the (4) shipping screws from the manipulators before attaching to the adapter plates. The shipping screws are labeled with a red warning tag. • The manipulators attach to the adapter plates on the top of the stands using (4) M3x14 each - found in the hardware labelled “Manipulator to Stand”.

- Page 5 Large Moving Stage Platform Orientation of Stands • Place the left and right manipulators on the board with black cap wing nuts facing forward as shown in the photo below. • Secure stands to base using hardware labeled “Base Plate Mounting Hardware”.
- Page 6 Large Moving Stage Platform Connect Electronics To MPC-78 Simply connect the motorized manipulator, controller, and ROE together using the cables provided. Quick step guide below: • Connect power cord to MP-200 controller. • With the power off, connect the ROE-200 input box and the MPC-200 controller using the RJ-45 8-conductor cable.
- Page 7 Large Moving Stage Platform Centering the MPC-78 Centering the motorized manipulator is strongly recommended before attaching the top plate. Follow these steps: • Power up controller. • Check to make sure that you have removed the shipping screws. Press the white “CALIBRATE” button on the back of the ROE.
- Page 8 Large Moving Stage Platform Attach Top Plate • Locate the “pockets” - indentations on the bottom of the top plate which will receive the manipulator slides. • Situate the motorized manipulator in the right pocket first. • Next, guide the non-motorized manipulator until it “drops” into the left pocket. • Go back to check that the motorized manipulator is still resting in its pocket.

Large Moving Stage Platform Adjust Height It is not impossible that you may have arrived at this point only to learn that your motorized stage is too high or too low through no fault of your own. Take a deep breath and follow the steps below: • If you are alone in the lab, call a friend. - Page 10 Large Moving Stage Platform Testing Complete the assembly by attaching the specified insert and testing the movement. A trial run of both the “X” and “Y” full path of travel is recommended. The goal is to confirm that the plate movement is unobstructed and the insert is centered under your objective. Follow the steps below: • Manually dial the “X” and “Y” control knobs one at a time. • Drive the motorized plate its full range of travel which is 12500 microns in each direction.
