Licences

To expand a system already in operation or to re-order a licence for a new system,
proceed as follows:
1. Order the licences you want from your authorised dealer and specify the EID
number, which serves to identify the communication server.
2. The new licence code can be obtained either from your authorized dealer or via
Aastra Connect

3. Enter the licence code in the view
cation server. The licence code is stored on the EIM card.
4. The newly licensed features are enabled. It is not necessary to restart the com-
munication server (exception: AIN licences).
The data stored on the EIM card is not deleted by a first start of the PBX, and re-
mains available.

EIM card

The EIM card must be replaced in the following cases:
• A licence is transferred to another communication server
• The call manager card is defective
• The EIM card is defective
A licence is transferred to another system of the same type
A licence can only be transferred to a communication server of the same type. To
do so you need to replace the EIM card with the licence information. For the proce-
dure for switching an EIM card see
The call manager card is defective
If a defective call manager card is replaced, the EIM card has to be switched from
the defective call manager card to the new one. For instructions on how to replace
