7 Trouble-shooting
The error message will be displayed in plain text (Fig.
26, item 1) and the red LED „Fault" (Fig. 26, item 2)
will indicate such a fault.
PLEASE NOTE
If a menu is displayed when an error
message is received, press function
key F7 to display the error message on
the screen in plain text.
Table 10 lists fault messages that can be displayed on
the operator's and indicator unit of the CHP module
control panel and that cannot be acknowledged with
function key F8.
WARNING
The possible causes of a fault that have
been listed are merely meant to be a
memory aid especially for the author-
ized specialist who has been trained by
the CHP module manufacturer.
NOTE
The reference to individual components
or assemblies as the potential cause of
a fault may require various measures,
such as
– a visual inspection to identify me-
chanical, thermal or other damage,
– a check, whether the installation has
been carried out correctly (position,
mounting, connections),
– establishing the operating condi-
tions or the functional performance,
or
– a check of the operating values
(measuring and set values, operat-
ing supplies etc.).

Only such causes of a fault have been listed that are
most likely in the light of the experience gained so far
and that the operating personal is able to identify. As
an example, a defect in the engine or in the alternator
cannot be analyzed on site by the personnel in charge
of the commissioning without special equipment.
WARNING
The contracting partner for the custom-
er service should only be asked for
support by phone or by fax, if an error
message cannot be acknowledged with
function key F8 after all the causes
listed below have been checked.
