HAVE CHOSEN A FLOW CHART TO BEGIN WITH
Now that you have chosen a particular flow chart, begin in the upper left corner of the
chart and follow the "flow" of instructions until you can go no further. These
instructions will bring you through a logical succession of steps to help you determine
where the problem is and what to do about it. Document the result of each step as it
is completed. This information is important if R&P is contacted.

CHECK A CABLE
Throughout the flow charts are instructions which indicate that a cable's continuity
should be checked. You must check a cable's continuity to verify that a particular
cable has not been damaged.
Follow these steps to check a cable's continuity:
1) Set the multimeter so it will measure resistance (
2) Determine which cable you are checking and locate its corre-
sponding connectors.
3) Refer to the interconnect diagrams in Section 4 to determine
which pins are connected from one connector to the other. (For
example, is pin 1 on one connector connected to pin 1 on the
other connector or to a different pin?)
4) Place one lead of the multimeter on the first pin on one of the
connectors and place the other lead on the corresponding pin of
the other connector. The resistance should be very close to zero
if the continuity is correct.
5) Repeat steps 2-4 for each set of pins being checked.

LOCATE A TEST POINT ON AN ELECTRONIC BOARD
Refer to the schematic diagrams for the electronics in Section 4. A drawing of the
interface board is included in this section and test points are labeled.

FIND PIN
There are four types of connectors used on the Partisol Monitor, "D"-type connectors,
ribbon cable connectors, 2-, 4- and 10-pin Molex connectors and round 3-, 4- and 6-
pin connectors.
