STEERING

Inspect initially at 1 month and every 6 months there-
after.
The steering should be adjusted properly for smooth turning of
handlebars and safe operation. Overtight steering prevents
smooth turning of the handlebars and too loose steering will
cause poor stability. Check that there is no play in the steering
stem. Support the motorcycle so that the front wheel is off the
ground. With the wheel facing straight ahead, grasp the front
fork near the axle and pull forward. If play is found, adjust the
steering. (

FRONT FORK

Inspect initially at 1 month and every 6 months there-
after.
• Remove the front fork covers. (
Inspect the front forks for grease, scoring or scratches on the
outer surface of the inner tubes. Clean or replace any defective
parts, if necessary.

REAR SUSPENSION

Inspect initially at 1 month and every 12 months there-
after.
Replace any defective parts if necessary.
• Remove the seat. (
Inspect the rear shock absorber for oil leakage and mounting
rubbers on rear shock absorber and swingarm for wear and
damage.
